James Cordier, Founder
James Cordier is a 35 year veteran of the US and international futures markets. As a retail broker in the 1980’s and 90’s, James developed a specialty in the fundamentals of physical commodities such as softs, grains, metals and energies. Parlaying this knowledge as a CTA in the 2000s and 2010s, he became better known as an option strategist and trusted voice in national financial media.
Diversify with Commodities
Too many investors, and investment professionals, have been pigeon-holed into standard portfolios that consist entirely of stocks, bonds, and real-estate. Those markets have performed well over time but have also come to resemble a house of cards. Retail investors are uncomfortable with their exposure to those asset classes, and have been seeking alternatives for diversification.
Exchange-traded commodity markets are utilized by billionaires but overlooked by most millionaires. Futures and options offer a wide array of opportunities to speculate on the price of real tangible goods, with extensive price discovery, volume, depth, and clarity. The Cordier Commodity Report hopes to encourage investment professionals to explore these markets for their clients, so they too become commodity enthusiasts.
